Victoria is updating its licensing system for heavy vehicle drivers to raise driver licensing standards and improve road safety for everyone. We are seeking your feedback on the changes and implementation options proposed as part of the Heavy Vehicle Driver Safety Reform (HVDSR).
What is the Heavy Vehicle Driver Safety Reform and Regulatory Impact Statement?
The HVDSR will deliver enhancements set out in the National Heavy Vehicle Driver Competency Framework (NHVDCF) review. As part of this Australia-wide initiative, Victoria will adopt new arrangements to strengthen the competency, safety, and consistency of heavy vehicle driver licensing.
The Victorian Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) has been developed to evaluate the proposed changes and ensure the new regulations are effective, evidence-based and support Victoria’s road safety and industry goals.
