The Australian heavy vehicle sector faces a critical safety and equity disparity, driven by a lack of accessible, multilingual instructional resources for professional drivers from non-English-speaking backgrounds (NESB). To address this gap, the National Road Safety Program (NRSPP), which is delivered in partnership with the Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC), led a collaborative project, funded by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s (NHVR) Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative (HVSI), supported by the Australian Government, delivering 13 Heavy Vehicle Toolbox Talk (TBT) packages translated into Arabic, Punjabi, and Simplified Chinese.
