We were proud to deliver another successful CLOCS-A Safety Forum that provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, industry collaboration, and discussion on the evolving requirements that support safer project delivery and the protection of vulnerable road users.
A central theme throughout the day was that while compliance provides the foundation for safe operations, achieving meaningful safety outcomes requires collaboration, innovation, and a proactive approach from all stakeholders.
Attendees heard from industry experts, regulators, contractors, and supply chain partners who shared practical experiences and lessons learned from implementing safety initiatives across construction and logistics operations.
Presenters explored the importance of reducing risks for vulnerable road users through improved vehicle design, driver awareness, education, and the adoption of safety technologies. Discussions highlighted how industry can work together to create safer interactions between construction vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and local communities.
Representatives from industry and regulatory organisations examined emerging compliance challenges, heavy vehicle safety obligations, and the role of proactive risk management in reducing incidents and improving safety performance across the sector.
Attendees received updates on CLOCS‑A accreditation requirements and the ongoing evolution of the framework. Discussions focused on ensuring the scheme remains practical, relevant, and effective in supporting organisations striving for best-practice construction logistics safety.
A range of case studies demonstrated how organisations are successfully implementing CLOCS‑A requirements through strong leadership, digital systems, operational controls, auditing processes, and contractor engagement. These examples showcased practical approaches that can be applied across projects of varying scale and complexity.
The forum also highlighted the increasing role of technology in improving safety outcomes, including telematics, camera systems, vulnerable road user detection technology, automated compliance monitoring, and other vehicle safety innovations.
One of the strongest messages to emerge from the forum was the importance of collaboration across the entire supply chain. Speakers reinforced that achieving safer outcomes requires shared responsibility among clients, contractors, transport operators, regulators, and industry bodies.
Through open discussion and shared learning, attendees gained valuable insights into the practical actions organisations can take to improve safety performance, strengthen their CLOCS‑A journey, and deliver safer projects.
CLOCS‑A and CILT Australia extend their sincere thanks to all presenters, panellists, support partners, and attendees whose contributions helped make the forum a success.
The event demonstrated the growing commitment across industry to advancing construction logistics safety through accreditation, education, innovation, and collaboration.
Together, we continue to move beyond compliance and work towards safer roads, safer sites, and safer communities.
