Presentation: Making Trucks More Visible

Presented by Chris Loose and James Williams at the 2024 TMC Conference on October 22, 2024.

2.55 metre Safer Freight Vehicles are required to have conspicuity marking. Conspicuity marking is also a requirement for government infrastructure projects and will be mandatory for all trucks and trailers accredited under CLOCS-A.

The ATA has published a new edition of its technical advisory procedure on heavy vehicle visibility. The new edition provides comprehensive advice for applying conspicuity markings, with diagrams showing typical applications.

You’ll gain understanding of:

  • the safety value of conspicuity marking
  • how to apply retro-reflective tape to a range of vehicle types
  • how to maintain marking tape
  • how to identify that a Safer Freight Vehicle has ADR compliant marking.
