The University of Western Australia has partnered with the Road Safety Commission to build Australia’s most advanced road safety driving simulator

Road Safety Commissioner Adrian Warner joined the Minister for Transport, Hon. Rita Saffioti MLA and the Minister for Road Safety Hon. David Michael at the University of Western Australia today for the launch of Australia’s most advanced driving simulator.

The Commission has invested $450,000 in the high-tech simulator to help researchers at the Western Australia Centre for Road Safety Research study a wide range of road safety issues.

The project, a partnership with Main Roads ($160,000) and UWA ($100,000), is an important new development for road safety.

‘The simulator is a prime example of how using high-end technology and evidence-based scientific research can help to reduce road trauma,’ said the Commissioner.
